Adopt Our Community members from Vancouver collaborated with Repeat Floral on a project repurposing wedding flowers to send to senior homes. Our aim for this project was to give new meaning to the expensive, beautiful flowers that are simply discarded after weddings. On September 16th, AOC members went to Heidi and Hamid’s wedding, and thanks to the wedding planner Kathlene, we were able to pick up the flower bouquets after the wedding finished. After reorganizing and selecting, we put together sixteen new bouquets of flowers. On the next day, we delivered these flowers to AgeCare Harmony Court, a senior home, where we gifted the bouquets to the seniors. This event not only brought a smile to the seniors’ face but also helped conserve the environment by reducing waste.
