Adopt-A-Family Project: Nanaimo
The Nanaimo District participated in the Adopt-A-Family Project by connecting with counsellors at Dover Bay Secondary School, a local high school, and donating a total of $200 (using their fundraised money) to a student with disabilities in need from a single-parent household. The money helped pay for his registration fee for college as well as a welder’s helmet, gloves, and other safety equipment that will allow him to begin the pursuit of his dream career. When members received a thank-you letter from the family in return, they were overjoyed by the fact that their efforts were able to make such a positive impact in the life of a fellow student.
